Do you throw yourself into new experiences? Are you thrusting yourself out of your comfort zone? This is my goal this year. To actively seek opportunities to learn new things, especially those outside of my realm of comfort.
As an author (and in general) I am a curious individual. If something catches my attention, I want to research it until I have a usable (respectfully so) understanding of the topic at hand. Some of you know that I have a buttload of books to write. Among the series in the works, is a paranormal BDSM series.
Guess what that means for me? Research. I need research like I need air when it comes to world building.
For the subject at hand, books and the internet can only get me so far. Some things I need a tangible experience. I need to walk the walk per say. So in order to get a better understanding of the world I want to create, I’m heading to my first DomCon.
I’m nervous. Mainly because I don’t know anyone who will also be attending and I have no clue what to expect. I’m going with an open mind and a lot of hope in learning something. I’ll let you know how it goes. Worst case scenario: I hide in my room because I’m just not ready lol.
